The picture.

Hey there everybody. I have a picture now, and finally a reason to blog. The picture was taken by Mike at a gas station in Cincinatti.

The tree was a pine. The umbrella used to work. The hat was made out of paper.

All in all, I think we got it right.

I hope you like it.

Kentucky Toe

Some of you may know that we were funning it up in Kentucky atSummer in the Son. last week. It was a the third and final week of this very rockin' fun event, and the loopy-ness within HappyFunTime had grown to a breaking point. Little did we know it would result in one of us gettin the "Kentucky Toe".

We were about an hour away from taking the stage, and had just returned from a trip toLong John Silvers. Now, a trip to LJS can have as many effects on the human psyche, as it has on the digestive system. When you put those crazy cardboard pirate hats on you feel swashbuckling antics build deep inside of you. Sure it could just the breaded shrimp talking, but somehow adventure becomes your middle name.

So we're back at Kentucky Christian College where Summer in the Son is already in high gear, and we're moments away from making the funny on stage when Mike lays down a challenge for the HFT dudes to jump over the hedges in front of the main building on campus.

It's important to note at this point that a brick wall surrounds these hedges. Made out of good strong brick.

Now, since the inception of the digital camera mankind has been given yet another area of freedom. The freedom to choose the best shot, on the spot, and really control the quality of your photos. A great idea. I'm a huge supporter of freedom. But, when you're jumping over hedgesvsurrounded by brick walls you need to balance freedom with reason. I blame the breaded shrimp, but in the end I failed to seek out this important balance.

By the third time we jumped over the hedges, and stopped to examine our photo quality, I had only cleared them once without using the friendly brick wall as a launching pad. But the fourth time is as they say in Kentucky "the brick wall to the toe", and that good people is exactly what happened.

In our final attempt to get a photo of ourselves clearing the hedges I took a slice off of my big toe. But! We all made it, and the picture (Hopefully someday you'll see it) really is worth a 1,000 words.

My toe is fine now. I'm learning to walk again, and only occasionally faint from the pain. But I'd like to think that we accomplished something of value in our efforts, and I have something to show for my pain.

Yep, I'd really like to think that.
