well, I was going to leave a coment on last one, but it got really long so I'm making new one now. if I can keep it up, I will blog about AI weekly with my prediction. OK, Wes. Let me rephrase then. Singing in-tune is a big deal if you are SINGER. singing out of tune is not such a big deal if you are POP Star. Get it ? Let me ask you this. When was the last time you bought a CD, reason because "Oh My Gosh! She/He is great singer, I gotta have the record!"

answer is ZEEEEEEERO, right? you buy records because you like the song or unique voice or something really hit you, right ? not because singing technique. record suppose to be sounds good or in-tune, if you want to call it that way. but truth is they have 1000 takes to spend, slice them up word by word. mix-in, mix-out, layering. they use so many techniques to make it sound good. now, Millie Vanilli doesn't sound so bad anymore, doesn't it? my point was they went through heck of a audition process. they are the 12(now 11) finalist from 50 or 100 whatever thousand people who applied for the audition. I think all of them are not so bad like a lot of people think. several pitch problem doesn't bother me. you can always correct them anyway. that's why singing in-tune is not my first priority when you are looking for POP star. and yes. it is important to sell the record because they will spend millions of dollars to make & promote a record. they have to reimburse the production cost somehow, right ? so it's for their own sake.

well, well, well. it's time for my prediction. Sorry ladies. I think one of you guys have to leave tomorrow. Nadia or Mikalah. I think both of them have great personality. especialy Mikalah is still 17 years old. if she gets experience more, she will do better than this time. OK then See you next week :)

American Idol 12 Finalist

well, well, well. it comes down to 12. now they all start singing same style of music, which I think hideous and dagerous idea. why ? because these contestants don't need to be a skilled singer. if you need a highly trained, technically superb singer, just pick from the backup singer of the band. they are way better singer(technically) than any of the contestants. don't you agree?

so if I am going to vote for these young talent, I would look for the uniqueness, charisma, and character of the voice. I don't really care for how good they sing or in-tune they were or great performance they did. I mean partially, yeah maybe it is important to sing in-tune. but, still to me character of the voice or charisma is way important to be a POP singer. because we can always fix the tuning on the record. somewhat, you can teach to sing in-tune. but, you cannot teach a charisma or character of the voice.

I think all contestants are deserve to have some respect. it's not easy to sing in front of 10,000, 15,ooo people , knowing 120 millions of people are going to may vote or may not vote for you. especially 16, 17years old kids are trying to be a star and when they crushed with pressure, I feel the pain.

now American Idol in 2005, I think top 3 should be all man(sorry ladies!) my favorite is Anwar ROBINSON. he has style, great voice and guess what ? he has skill. according to some NJ newspaper's pole, favorite to win this year is Anwar-1st, Bo Bice "The Rocker"-2nd and Mario Vazquez is 3rd. I would definitely agree with 1st. but I would dare to pick the Constantine Maroulis "another Rocker" for my 2nd pick. I think girls are going to love him and still OK singer to be recording artist. Bo Bice is great , but he is a little bit out of character to be a AMERICAN IDOL(it's just my opinion). Mario is 5 years late to come in music industry. I think he reminds me of BOY BAND. like Back Street Boys, N'Sync, O-Town, 98 degree etc.... well.....what do you think ?
