Phew. HFT just got back from another awesome trip to Michigan. Honestly, I don't know why we don't just move there. We're basically commuting between Minneapolis and Michigan this summer.
It's totally worth it, though. Michigan is awesome. Yes, the scenary is amazing. Yes, they've got the corner on Great Lakes. Yes, they know how to grow cherries..and they know how to eat them. But the people there are so great.
We just performed our 3rd summer in a row at the LCMS Michigan Jr. High Gathering at Concordia Ann Arbor. We love the staff folks there. We love the Jr. High students there. We love hanging out with Rev. Bill Yonker and those koo-koo-kachoo dudes Swen and Dean. And we love seeing these students live out their faith. We love seeing them dig deeper into God's word. We love seeing them "work out their salvation with fear and trembling"...and quite a bit of fun.
What's not to love about this event?
Thanks to everyone involved, especially Jonathan (pictured here). He shared some of his peanut butter cookies with us. Mmmm. Cookies. He also helped us out on stage as an audience volunteer. This guy has got mad skills. He's going places. And he's taking his cookies with him. Wait for us, man...
